The Look & Feel
Of A Legend
A legend is not simply born. It is forged over time. Uncompromising in its standards
Unmatched in its class. Unchallenged by its competition.
Nowhere is this more evident than in the classic design of our legendary Model 379. From
the aircraft-grade huckbolts that provide six times the strength of rivets, to its optional
119" or 127" elongated aluminum hood and distinctive stainless steel grille, the Peterbilt
Model 379 is, above all, a driver's truck.
Available with engines up to 600 horse-power and a variety of suspension systems, the 379
can be configured to meet the demands of virtually any job. And when you add Peterbilt's
legendary reliability and resale value, you've go a cost per mile that rivals anything on
wheels.
The Peterbilt Model 379. Legendary performance that's equally appreciated by those who
own a fleet of one or 1,000.
Distinctions Of Class
This Peterbilt, like all before it, is designed and assembled to
reflect the highest levels of innovation. The very best
standards of craftsmanship. To ensure efficient servicing, the
Model 379 is designed with a 90 degree tilt hood—giving you
complete engine access. A spring-assisted hood hinge allows
for easy, one-hand operation.
Inside, the 379 is truly a driver's truck. Exhaustive computer
analysis and customer input have allowed us to determine such things
as optimum seat position and instrument layout. All to
increase driver comfort, our exclusive UltraCab features a higher
cab roof, taller walk-through area and more spacious driving
environment.
Our cabs make extensive use of premium aluminum alloys for added
strength. A seamless aluminum roof virtually eliminates the
treat of leaks. Proof positive that beauty is more than skin
deep.
No detail is overlooked in the construction of our fuel tanks. We use only premium-finish aluminum alloys, which have a natural,
brilliant gleam. As standard, the Model 379 features a dual
draw/dual return fuel system with a tank equalization valve. A
true "Distinction Of Class."
Peterbilt offers a selection of sleepers in a wide range of sizes
and roof heights, including the Unibilt UltraSleeper, featuring the
most efficient use of space on the market today. The Unibilt
Cab Sleeper System secures the cab and sleeper into a single
structural unit that provides more driver room, while creating an
uncompromisingly smooth ride.
Roof fairings, side trim tabs and cab side extenders allow you to
customize the aerodynamics of the 379 to your specific needs. Stainless steel accessories such as an outside windshield visor,
stainless steel air cleaner, as well as polished tool and battery
boxes are part of achieving the Peterbilt mystique.
Nothing speaks of Peterbilt Class quite like our distinctive
stainless steel radiator grille. The Model 379's traditional
polished aluminum radiator surround, aluminum headlight pods and
polished aluminum bumper are indicative of our unfaltering quest for
engineering excellence.
The wide variety of front and rear air suspensions available on the
Model 379 offer a smooth, stable ride, while minimizing wear on the
cab and frame. Our proprietary air suspensions make extensive use of
aluminum components to give a ride that is as light as many spring
suspensions.
Class Pays. In Any Application. In Any Environment.
Exceptional driver comfort. It's a mission shared by all
Peterbilts. Putting truckers at one with the road. Creating a truck as much as home on the interstate as it is the
logging road.
How do we consistently achieve such an enviable goal?
We simple place the needs of the driver above all else. To
that end, the Model 379 can be equipped in a variety of different
ways—to conform to a variety of hauling requirements. The
wheel base, for instance, is offered in one-inch increments to suit
your precise demands. We offer six different frame rails to
custom match the strength-to-weight needs of your application. We'll even customize your instrument and control positions.
No modification is too small if it can help prolong a driver's
productive hours behind the wheel. Just one of the reasons the
Peterbilt Model 379 is the most sought after long conventional in
the used truck market.
The Peterbilt Model 379. Tradition. Comfort. Resale value. A truck so inspired in its design, its handling,
its use of power that it must be considered a classic. Worthy
of collection.
The Model 379
True Class is defined by more than its ability to perform—more
than its efficiency at hauling excavating equipment and delivering
readymix. True class is the versatility to be rugged, yet
maneuverable. The flexibility to satisfy both the foreman and
the accountant.
And for generations, only one name in construction trucks has been
able to accomplish all that and much more. Peterbilt.
No other manufacturer of trucks offer a wider selection of proven,
lightweight-yet-rugged componentry than Peterbilt. A fact that
gives you the freedom to spec one of the lightest, most productive
heavy-duty trucks in the industry.
And true to its legend, every Peterbilt truck is designed to deliver
unparalleled performance at the jobsite. Our all-aluminum cabs
and other corrosion-resistant parts easily shrug off the effects of
the elements. With up to a 50 degree wheel cut, a Peterbilt
truck can easily handle the ins and outs of cramped construction
sites.
The flagship of the Peterbilt fleet, the Model 379 offers both
durability and flexibility, making it ideal for a variety of
construction applications.

Working Class Hero
The Peterbilt Model 330 is built to deliver years of practical, economical performance.
At the heart of this workhorse is a lightweight, rugged, corrosion
resistant all aluminum cab, constructed with aircraft quality Huck
fasteners and topped off with a one-piece aluminum roof. The
result is a cab that remains solid, virtually rattle-free and road
ready despite the rugged demands of constant use. While some
competitors offer a riveted frame, the Model 330 boasts the
industry's strongest frame with Huck-bolted frame rails. Even
cost savings are built in with features like a three-piece bumper,
allowing for less expensive piece-by-piece replacement in the event
of a small accident.
Design That Puts The Driver First
With increased driver productivity and safety squarely in our
sights, a unique ergonomic tilt steering wheel provides excellent
visibility for gauges while adjusting to fit drivers of all
sizes. Ample space adds extra room on both driver and
passenger sides and makes entrance easier and exits safer. And
the Model 330 is available in a smooth riding manual or automatic
Eaton Fuller transmission that reduces both manual shifting and
clutch wear. With Peterbilt's Crew Cab option, a four-door
extended cab configuration easily accommodates larger crews with a
full-width rear bench seat that comfortably seats three.

Though it makes its living in the confines of the city, Peterbilt's
newest entry n the medium duty lineup is equally at home on the open
road, meeting the needs of cross-town and city-to-city
shippers. Every time it rolls onto the road, it goes to work
with a smooth ride, crisp handling, outstanding driver amenities and
rugged durability. And when you factor in its versatility and
longevity, the economics of the Model 270 add up to an investment
that pays off in productivity.
